Another pair of trousers constructed from scratch, these are a large black number which are tight around the hips, and flare extensively from the level of the hips. They are made from a thin, light fabric (because it was cheaper, and we needed quite a lot), and they waft in the breeze rather fetchingly; were it not for the tightness at the top, these may well pass for a flowing skirt. The materials used are shown below - about a one-inch square of each.
A zip on either side-seam opens to allow a person in or out, and a small(-ish) gore of black lace on either side adds interest and the possibility of a glimpse of some leg. There are no pockets, although I suppose you could keep some small objects in the sides, because there are panels of lace behind the zips. So, all in all, these are a pair of trousers that can be townie or goth, smart or casual - ideal for every day!. They weren't difficult to make, either. It takes time, but it's not complicated, especially because they don't need tailoring below the hips - they just flare out!
